OBJECTIVES:

Under the supervision of the Disarmament and Protection on Civilians Advocacy Manager, you will provide coordination and guidance on specific activities of a two-year project in drafting recommendations on the implementation of humanitarian commitments of the Political Declaration.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

You manage project coordination and administration

  • Project Planning and Timeline Development:
    • Managing key project management tasks, including developing a project plan and timeline aligned with ECHO contract requirements;
    • Monitor progress against project milestones and objectives;
    • Coordinate reporting with partners, in line with contract deadlines.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Coordinate project activities, ensuring efficient execution and alignment with project objectives;
    • Liaise with relevant stakeholders to facilitate seamless collaboration;
    • Identify and address project risks and issues;
    • Lead meetings with project partners, ensure decisions after meetings are clear and well communicated to the project partners.

You contribute to the production of the project deliverables relating to policy and advocacy

  • Organization of policy and advocacy workshops and webinars:
    • Develop Terms of Reference of workshops, based on provided guidance;
    • Lead the organization of one in-person workshops and three webinars over a two-year period, each focusing on different thematic areas.
  • Development of policy and advocacy material:
    • Produce briefing documents for participants to the workshop and webinars;
    • Develop summary and main outcome documents, after each webinar and workshop;
    • Develop Terms of Reference for researcher consultants on existing templates and previously defined research topics;
    • Together with partners, develop disseminating strategy for all produced documents.
  • Steer stakeholders engagement:
    • Contribute to internal and external stakeholders mapping of humanitarian actors and civil society organizations that have experiences in working on EWIPA related topics;
    • Directly engage with a diverse group of 20-40 stakeholders, each offering unique expertise and perspectives, to ensure productive workshop participation;
    • You contribute to other tasks on disarmament and protection of civilians:
      • Draft, review, and update policy documents related to disarmament and the protection of civilians;
      • Contribute to development of funding proposals and drafting donor reports.

Requirements:

  • University Degree in political science, international relations, economics, law, or a related field with at least 3-5 years of prior project management experience (ideally with ECHO funding);
  • Previous experience with multi-stakeholders dialogue, and organizing events (online and face to face) with officials, including States representatives;
  • Previous experience with advocacy, ideally in an NGO;
  • Solid experience and knowledge in humanitarian initiatives and the protection of civilians;
  • Organizational skills to plan, implement, and monitor advocacy projects;
  • Excellent writing skills and the ability to translate complex political narrative into simple content;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities;
  • Strong inter-cultural communication skills;
  • Analytical and mapping skills;
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and punctual, with an ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously;
  • Independently with minimal supervision;
  • Proficiency in creating project plans and timelines;
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively in a team and with external stakeholders;
  • Excellent written and spoken English, a good command of French is desirable;
  • Very good IT skills - MS Office applications (Excel, Word and Power Point) and very good knowledge of social media.
