General objective:

The FSL Program Manager is responsible for implementing and achieving the programs covering food security and livelihood sectors as well as cash and voucher (CVA) modalities. He/she is in charge of supervising the operational teams allocated to his/her program. He/she guarantees the proper execution and the quality of the implemented program and, if applicable, suggests adjustments or developments to ensure its relevance. He/she will be in charge of developing conflict sensitive analysis and a food security strategy for the base.

In West and Central Darfurs, the FSL PM will be the lead in driving SI's response to the large scale food insecurity crisis. SI is also a key player of the humanitarian coordination in the area, with the PM leading the newly created CWG.

The main challenges:

  • Imminent famine (operations areas in IPC 4 and 5) and needs to rapidly scale-up the food assistance in West and Central Darfur;
  • Team under expansion with need of structuring and capacity building;
  • Access challenges (including BAI), cash liquidities issues, and severely affected markets.

Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

  • Scale-up of the Cash and Voucher response to the food security crisis in West and Central Darfur;
  • Starting market strengthening activities in West Darfur;
  • Implementation and monitoring nutrition activities (direct implementation and through a local partner);
  • Team structuring and capacity building.

Your profile

Education/academic background:

  • Bachelor or Masters degree in related field (economics, agriculture, nutrition, conflict and international relations, etc.).

Specific skills and experience:

Experience:

  • +5 years of experience in the humanitarian sector and 3-4 years on similar positions.

Technical skills:

  • Strong experience/expertise in managing Cash and Voucher Assistance;
  • Knowledge of livelihood, agricultural and/or market strengthening sector;
  • Prior experience in the nutrition sector is a plus;
  • Close coordination and joint implementation with others consortium partner.

Transversal skills:

  • Work under pressure;
  • Adaptability;
  • Strong initiative capacities.

Language:

  • Fluent English;
  • French is an advantage;
  • Arabic would be a strong asset.
