The Corporate and Foundation Relations Manager will work with AWF’s internationally (US, Europe, and Africa) based Corporate and Foundation Relations team - playing a key role in identifying, cultivating, and managing relationships with various sectors of the global donor community with a goal of raising funds and enhancing AWF’s visibility in support of our mission to conserve Africa’s wildlife and wild lands. Working directly with AWF’s Corporate and Foundation Relations Director, The Manager will support the development and submission of proposals and reports, the identification and cultivation of Corporate and Foundation prospects and partnerships, and participate in global events and conferences that raise the visibility of AWF with prospective donors.


  • Identifies and interfaces with prospective donors, crafting thoughtful strategies to cultivate successful and diverse Corporate and Foundation partnerships;
  • Engages in managing a stable of existing Corporate and Foundation partnerships, including exploring opportunities to expand ongoing partnerships;
  • Develops briefings, presentations and customized collateral for prospective partners;
  • Tracks and monitors reporting deadlines of projects associated with accounts in portfolio;
  • Develops and edits donor reports coordinating with Field staff to ensure accurate financial reporting;
  • Coordinates, updates and reports on the Corporate and Foundation Team’s Moves Management to ensure consistent treatment of prospects, from cultivation to solicitation to relationship management;
  • Collaborates with AWF’s Research Officer to review on a regular basis a pre-determined range of online and print publications, databases and other information sources for potential prospects;
  • Assists with development of content that details opportunities for businesses to support AWF via cause-marketing partnerships, project specific support, in-kind contributions, and other arrangements aligning with AWF’s corporate strategy;
  • Interacts with program and Africa staff as needed to obtain information on AWF programs for the purposes of developing partnership proposals and preparing reports to donors;
  • Develops agreements and monitors same to ensure adherence by the partner and AWF.


  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Corporate or Foundation relations role, sales, philanthropy or related field;
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Corporate Social Responsibility and cause-related marketing world and related fundraising practices;
  • Strong sense of teamwork and collaboration;
  • Ability to work independently and develop account cultivation strategies to execute on goals;
  • Enjoys creativity and learning new ways of doing things to remain fresh and up to date on industry trends;
  • Great networking skills;
  • Superior written skills;
  • Excellent verbal communications skills;
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced collaborative environment while prioritizing and managing multiple deadlines;
  • Experience working with donor databases; Raiser’s Edge preferred;
  • Knowledge of the international development donor community;
  • Willingness to travel on occasion for donor meetings, prospecting events;
  • Candidates with current or previous experience in NGOs preferred;
  • Keen interest or experience in Africa’s wildlife, land and people preferred, but not required.
